Story: Outdoor living spaces, especially on the ocean, should be treated as an extension of interior living spaces. Here, we continued the color palette of the overall project which drew inspiration from the coast. Colorful patterned tile and an added ceiling beam to cover seams blend seamlessly with elements from the adjacent living room. A wall of curtains softens the otherwise hard space dominated by porcelain floors, glass sliders, metal rails and concrete walls, and billows in the sea breeze. These elements, together with furniture in similar motifs as the interior furniture, result in an outdoor living space just as comfortable as inside. As practical as it is beautiful, this patio features materials and textiles that are resistant to the elements for carefree living.
