Intracoastal Livable Luxury

Story: The smaller lot initially presented some challenges as we worked toward a floor plan. The downstairs plan ended up mostly open, but with a long/narrow family room, leaving room only for two sofas. Wanting more versatile seating options, we placed four swivel chairs in a conversation circle right in between the family & dining rooms. It is one of the first things seen upon entering the home, creating an inviting, casual atmosphere and is inevitably where everyone chooses to sit, easily able to turn to interact with people in any other part of the downstairs while also bridging the spaces together. The open plan also gave us expansive views of the water which informed the color palette. Finishes, furnishings and textural details were also inspired by the coastal region, with mother of pearl fireplace tile, white performance upholstery, capiz shell tables, porthole mirrors, collections of sea inspired art and more, all set against rich hardwood floors and ceiling beams, further contrasted by delicate lighting throughout. The result is a light and airy, transitional home full of luxuries while at the same time livable for this client's lifestyle.
